How to make a wedding seating chart with this tool

  1. Paste your confirmed guests, one per line. Count each plus-one and each child as their own line — every person is a chair.
  2. Set the number of tables and seats per table to match the venue's floor plan.
  3. Drag names onto seats. Place whole families and couples first, then friend groups, then the people who could sit anywhere.
  4. Print the chart by table for the venue, or download it as a text file for the escort cards.

The order matters more than the tool: collect the constraints first (who must sit together, who must not, who needs the best view), then place people. Our seating chart guide walks through divorced parents, exes, kids' tables and the “table of leftovers”.

Can I use this on my phone?

It works, but dragging names onto seats is much easier on a laptop or tablet with a mouse.

Does it keep families together automatically?

Not this free version — you drag by hand. The full Wedding Planner attaches group, side and “keep apart” tags to each guest and has an Auto Arrange that respects them, plus a to-scale floor plan of the room.
